Last updated: May 2026
Privacy Policy
StudyPulse ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use StudyPulse.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the Service, and limited technical data from your device.
- Account data: email address, authentication credentials stored securely by our identity provider, and profile fields associated with your account, such as plan or usage counters.
- Content you upload: audio and video files you choose to process, associated filenames, and derived outputs such as transcripts, summaries, concept lists, and quizzes generated for you.
- Usage data: approximate timestamps of actions, feature usage needed to operate quotas, and diagnostic logs needed to maintain reliability and security.
- Device and app data: device type, operating system version, app version, and technical identifiers needed for authentication, notifications, and in-app purchases when enabled.
2. How we use your information
We use information to provide, operate, and improve StudyPulse; authenticate users; prevent fraud and abuse; enforce subscription, free-tier, and trial limits; communicate with you; comply with legal obligations; and respond to lawful requests.
3. AI processing and third-party providers
To deliver core features, StudyPulse sends portions of your content to third-party processors strictly as needed to perform the Service. We do not sell your personal information.
- OpenAI may process uploaded media for transcription according to OpenAI's policies and your configuration.
- Anthropic may process transcript text to generate summaries, concepts, quizzes, and related outputs according to Anthropic's policies.
- Supabase hosts authentication, database storage, and related infrastructure for accounts and saved content, subject to Supabase's terms and security practices.
- Google Play processes payment information when you purchase or manage subscriptions through Google Play Billing. We receive limited purchase state information needed to unlock features.
These providers may process data in the United States or other regions where they operate. Their use of information is governed by their respective privacy policies and our agreements with them.
4. Storage, retention, and deletion
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may delete certain saved content where the app provides deletion controls. You may request account deletion by contacting us; we will delete or anonymize personal information unless we must retain it for legal reasons.
5. Legal bases where applicable
If applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent where required, and legal obligations.
6. Sharing of information
We may share information with service providers who assist us in operating the Service, with professional advisers where permitted, and when required by law or to protect rights and safety. We may disclose information in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.
7. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
StudyPulse is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. International transfers
If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent where processing is consent-based; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact us using the email below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in the app and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes may require additional notice where required by law.
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of StudyPulse (the "Service"), including our mobile application, websites, and related features. By creating an account, tapping "Sign Up," or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use StudyPulse.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of unauthorized use.
2. The Service
StudyPulse provides tools to upload or process study-related media, generate transcripts and study materials, organize saved content, and related functionality. Features may change over time. We may suspend or discontinue parts of the Service with reasonable notice where practicable.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to violate applicable law or third-party rights; upload unlawful, infringing, harassing, hateful, or sexually exploitative content; upload content you do not have rights to process; probe, scan, test, or bypass Service security; reverse engineer the Service except where permitted by law; or resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service without our written consent.
We may investigate violations and may remove content, suspend accounts, or terminate access where appropriate.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and trials
Paid features may be offered through Google Play Billing. Prices, taxes, and billing cycles are presented at purchase and governed by Google's terms. When you purchase a subscription, your payment is processed by Google; we receive entitlement signals needed to unlock features.
New users may receive a seven day free trial of Pro-level features, as described in-app. During the trial, certain limits and entitlements may match the Pro tier unless otherwise stated. When the trial ends, your access reverts to the Free tier unless you have an active paid subscription.
Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled in your Google Play account settings. Canceling stops future renewals; you may retain access through the end of the current paid period as permitted by Google Play policies.
5. Free tier and usage limits
Free and paid tiers may include usage limits, such as transcription minutes per month or per week. Limits are described in-app and may change with notice. If you exceed a limit, certain features may be unavailable until the next period or until you upgrade.
6. Intellectual property
StudyPulse and its branding, software, and content we create, excluding your uploads and outputs generated specifically for you, are owned by us and our licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial educational purposes unless otherwise agreed.
You retain rights in content you upload. To operate the Service, you grant us a license to host, process, transmit, and display your content as needed to provide features you request, including sending portions to AI providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. AI outputs and disclaimers
AI-generated summaries, concepts, quizzes, and transcripts may be incomplete or inaccurate. The Service is not a substitute for professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them for academic, employment, legal, medical, or other decisions.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STUDYPULSE AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS, UNLESS APPLICABLE LAW REQUIRES OTHERWISE.
10. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless StudyPulse and its affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms in the app and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance, except where additional notice or consent is required by law.
13. Governing law and disputes
Unless prohibited by applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts in Delaware may have exclusive jurisdiction, unless consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
